• Eadie Oil Inc. Heavy Oil - Bitumen Partial Upgrading

    Diluent Reduction Process Solutions
Background
Established in 1985, Eadie Oil Inc. is a private Canadian energy company based in Alberta. Combining the development of energy resources with the application of new technology, based on progressively developed science, has been a family tradition. The president, W. (Bill) Eadie, P.Eng., consolidated previous knowledge derived from his oil and gas assets in Eastern Tennessee and a gas property in Alberta, into the company.

W.(Bill) Eadie,P.Eng. President & CEO. (780)906-0577 Invergowrie, Scotland. Edmonton, Canada.

Historical Notes
The company continues a family interest in the exploration of scientific and, in particular, oil development. William Ewing Eadie became Chairman of the Burmah Oil Co. which financed the early oil exploration of BP in Persia (Iran). He became a director of both BP and Shell Oil among other major corporations.
Current Activities
The current focus of Eadie Oil Inc. is the development of heavy oil/bitumen partial upgrading plants. The initial demonstration plant will be in Canada, then in other heavy oil production countries like Venezuela, based on the modified EADIEMAC process. The process is at TRL 7 with elements at TRL 9. The underlying technology, visbreaking, is well established but the lower plant capital cost is a breakthrough development relative to existing plants. Providing a Canadian process option for producers will support the creation of Canadian centric supply chains of benefit to Albertans, the Canadian energy sector and Alberta First Nations.
Future developments
The science of the EADIEMAC process is focussed on significant environmental benefits over current field operations and production shipping methods. Work is ongoing to explore different processing options. New versions of the EADIEMAC process aim to optimize pipeline capacity at various locations. Reducing the demand for diluent alone cuts the carbon intensity since less diluent is required to be moved back and forth at production sites.
